And We're Back...

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on your RSS feed, your ol' buddy the CS is back!

In all seriousness, I do have to apologize for going completely dark for the last week and change but, when you're so sick that all you can do is lay on the couch, chug Nyquil, and watch Buffy DVDs, let's just suffice it to say that there ain't a lot about to get done.  Yes, you read correctly.  I got sick and spent most of a week in Sunnydale. My inner nerd had the flu. Sue me.

Well, today is 9/11/2012.  It's a national day of remembrance for the atrocities that occurred 11 years ago, but September 11 also has another meaning for me.  Had I remained in my horrible mistake of a first marriage, today would have also been my 13th wedding anniversary.  The irony that the biggest tragedy in both our nation's and my personal history occurred on the same date is not lost on me in the slightest, believe me.  It does, however, lend me a bit of a different viewpoint on the day.  I choose to use today to remember those who lost their lives, honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and reflect on the things that have changed so dramatically in my life since that time.

Given that today should be a day to reflect, I'm going to postpone getting back to business as usual here on the blog until tomorrow.  This is going to be a great week here on the Cynical Sarcastic as there will be a new guest blog, several new rants, and a big announcement in the coming days.

Stay tuned...
